"blue Pete" Is Another Name for A Bird Commonly Known As A "coot". At One Time Back Bay and the Surrounding Ponds in Pungo Were Filled With These Birds and Also Many Other Species of Ducks and Geese. Tabernacle Creek, Which Runs Behind the Restaurant, and Back Bay Were Some of the Greatest Freshwater Fishing and Hunting Grounds in the Country.
